MSM Nutritional Sulfur for Chronic Pain Associated With Fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia is a common Rheumatic Disease
that was previously called soft tissue rheumatism, fibrositis or non-articlar rheumatism. The Arthritis Foundation has stated that fibromyalgia is the second leading arthritis condition.
According to the American College of Rheumatology, it is believed that 3 to 6 million Americans are affected by it. The Canada Arthritis Society estimates that fibromyalgia affects between 2.1 and 5.7 percent of the population, with women being affected four times more often than men. It is said that the risk increases with age and is most common in women 50 or older.
Unlike common degenerative arthritis that attacks the joints, fibromyalgia attacks the soft tissue, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Symptoms may include persistent burning, soreness, pain, all over stiffness, flu like feelings, headaches, irritable bowel, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, and depression. Severity of the symptoms may vary, but most patients experience some form of pain and discomfort on a daily basis.
The cause of fibromyalgia is not known.
Some patients have reported having had a viral, bacterial, or parasite infection or some kind of automobile accident, fall, or injury prior to contracting the disease.
There is no known cure for this disease but symptoms may be lessened by getting adequate rest, proper diet and supplementation such as colostrum, vitamins and a sulfur compound.
